Our task is to answer a question which is ‘Are graphics important in a video game?’ so I done some research online and gathered some information from there and I got more information by asking couple of my friends.
Online Research.
I found a Reddit link where people discuss about how important the graphics are in video games. Different people have different opinions, I’ll leave a link to the Reddit so you can see all the comments about the graphics on video games.

Facebook/Friends Research.
I went on Facebook and asked two of my friends to see if they think graphics are important in a video game, I’ll leave a screen shot below of what they said.

My friend Ashley explained back in the day where PlayStation 1 was the real deal and no one would of cared about the graphics then because it was the best we had back then but today’s people would care and I agree too, I like to play games with good graphics because it gives it that more life like feel to the game.
I also posted the question onto my Facebook page and when I get couple of comments I’ll post a picture of peoples opinions.
Friends opinions
Here are some comments on about the graphics of video games, I’ve covered the names on the people in the comments for privacy reasons.

Some of the names are still visible in your screenshot of the comments as you have some names of the people who liked your question, some of their profile pictures are only half covered, but if you asked me, I would definitely say graphics are important in video games, and I do agree with you and Ashley, I doubt anyone cared about graphics before the 2010’s, but with the changes in technology in the 2010’s and augmented and virtual reality becoming popular, they are important so people find it interesting. They want to see quality and quantity, personally I prefer playing older games and the majority of the games I own are from the 2000’s, I don’t really care about the games on Xbox One and PS4 etc.

I saw you wasn’t in today, Chris gave us an exhibition task for Unit 3 and the list of tasks are very similar to what’s in the tracker. the list of tasks are here (might not be exactly as it’s written in the list, I don’t have the list handy):
1. Identify the target audience for an exhibition you are making.
2. Collect some primary research on your target audience to develop ideas.
3. Collect some secondary research on your target audience to develop ideas, Chris recommends looking at these websites: 1) https://www.theodysseyonline.com/pop-up-art-show 2) https://learning.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/03/21/what-would-you-plan-if-a-local-museum-paid-you-to-attract-teens/ 3) https://www.theguardian.com/culture-professionals-network/culture-professionals-blog/2012/mar/13/museums-junction-engage-young-people
4. Pitch your ideas to a client (Chris or Jez) and explain how it meets the needs of your target audience.
5. Design and develop your ideas
6. Reflect on your ideas throughout. Does it meet the needs of your target audience?
7. Evaluate your work by self-assessment and feedback from your target audience.
For the second task, Chris was supposed to design the survey for us, but he had to spend 20-odd minutes with Brandon for something that I cannot comment about, so he asked me to create a survey for everyone to complete, he wants everyone to complete it, I know you’ve done your primary research for your video game, but he wants us to do primary research about the target audience for a college open day exhibition and what sort of things they might like to see, I’ll link the survey here if you wouldn’t mind completing it: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/G59GQJM
And as I had to disappear after Lunch because of an appointment, I’ve emailed my screenshots of the results from the survey to Chris from home. I’ve asked him to forward those screenshots so they should be on the group in the morning if you’re in, or if you’d prefer you could maybe send me your home email and I could email the screenshots to you. I’m not sure what the best way to do this privately, perhaps try by clicking on my name, which will take you to my blog, then look at the menu on the top right and see where it says Information & Enquries (assuming you’re using a laptop or desktop), and send me your email there and I can send you the screenshots of the survey results. This way you’ll already be ahead of yourself with the exhibition task.
I hope this helps.
