Poster

Evil.

Power.

Enemies.

Shows a story.

Shows who the bad people are and who the good is.

Show’s there’s a battle/war between them.

Main character (good guy) is called “DoomGuy”

This poster has a lot of dark red colours, this shows the evil and darkness.

Painting

Evil.

Power.

Shows the main character in the painting has all the power.

Shows he has people working for him and they’re taking over everything.

This painting shows no red colour but mainly just simple colours, it shows you don’t need red and dark colours to tell a dark/Evil story.

Both the painting and the game use colour, but the game (poster) has lots of red symbolising evil, darkness and hell. The painting on the other hand has simpler colours, although this maybe because the painting is old and the colours have faded. The characters in both the painting and the game (poster) convey power and evil. They do this by their size (e.g. the evil character in the painting is much larger than the others) and they are both positioned in the centre, indicating they are important. Both the evil characters have staring, piercing eyes which gives them a sense of fear and power.
