3D modeling Assignment (unit 7 )

Instead of creating an object to make 3D I used an image and that image was my dad’s business logo. (picture below of logo).

To open and make the picture 3D I had to open up a software called ‘Inkscape’ (picture below) to Trace Bitmap the picture and then save it as an ‘SVG’ because that’s what ‘blender’ requires.

I then opened up the picture in blender and followed a tutorial to make this happen (link to the video below)

After following the full tutorial I now have a 3D logo. (picture below). This tutorial is perfect for beginners just like me and it helps a lot.

Now I’ve done creating a 3D model I can now print this out using the 3D printer in our college class with the help of Chris. (All pictures will be updated along as I do it).

I’ve now copied it over to an SD card and then loaded it up onto the 3D printer. After setting it up the 3D printer is now printing my logo. Below I’ll leave a video and some pictures.

As you can see in the YouTube video you can see the 3D printer printing the base of the logo.

Update

I’ve now printed the logo using the 3D printer and it has come out the way I wanted it to, (pictures below)
